Towards a Sustainable World Tax Order
GTP® Director Dr. Markus Brem attended the two-days ITC Munich 2022 conference held on July 21/22, 2022 in the House of Bavarian Businesses, in cooperation with Business@OECD and sponsored by WTS. The conference placed fundamental issues on the transformation of the global tax system and the society itself such as pricing carbon, Pillar One and Two, digitalization of tax, tax certainty, and cross-border mobile working.
About 60 participants attended the seminar. Speakers were from the international business community of international taxation, the United Nations, the OECD, and German governmental bodies.
The overall message of the conference basically was about the ongoing transition processes into new business models, the inherent tax challenges, and the opportunity to regulate the transformation of certain societal areas such as carbon emissions by mechanisms of taxation. The conference was held in the format of “panel sessions” and presentations were orally without written/graphical presentations.
